Heat Treat Operator

- Set-up and operation of furnace and agitator controls
- Lighting furnace burners
- Load and unload furnaces
- Overhead crane and forklift operation
- Quenching of forged product
- Filling of quench tanks
- Hardness checking of forgings
- Calibration of Brinell Scopes
- Grinding of pieces as required
- Documentation / record keeping
- Heat treat area housekeeping
- Adhere to and enforce all safety rules & guidelines as outlined by the Patriot Special Metals safety manual. Complete First aid reports, Accident investigation & reporting when required.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Working hours: First Shift

--Post secondary technical education in metallurgy or related discipline.
--Previous industrial experience, preferably in a foundry or steel industry.
--Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, coordination and priority setting skills to complete multiple tasks and projects.
--Ability to interpret technical drawings.
--Familiarity with material handling equipment (overhead cranes and forklifts) and the safe handling of large objects.
--Good communication skills.-
--Demonstrated leadership skills.
